Social Medias

This is a blog by the students at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Lund University, Sweden.

Witnessing the events unfold at Tahrir Square, where people from all walks of life, transcending ethnic, gender, class and religious boundaries for a common goal, gave birth to the idea of starting this blog.

All over the world people have been inspired by Tahrir Square and have applied the experience to their own local contexts. We like the idea that 'all squares are Tahrir' hence the name From Möllan to Tahrir. Möllan is a square in the centre of Malmö where people from different cultures meet and interact, representing the hope for a multicultural, tolerent, and open new society.

The views expressed by the authors on this site do not necessarily reflect the views or the policy of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies or the student body as a whole.

The blog aims to provide a platform for the CMES students to express their views and analysis on current affairs with reference to the Middle East and related issues. It highlights issues and debates that are not covered by established media as well as strives to provide a bridge between popular and academic debates as well as between domestic and international debates. Furthermore, the blog links to articles, blogs, e-zines, twitter accounts and resources of general interest.
